One of the major new attractions at the 2018 Killarney Motor Show powered by Kfm 94.5 on Sunday, 4 November, Cape Town’s biggest and most hands-on motoring festival, is Adventure City, in the off-road area at the south-east of the Killarney International Raceway.
There you will find Kfm 94.5, making all the right music to amp up the adrenalin, and a range of all-wheel drive vehicles from Reeds N1 City.
On display for the first time in Cape Town, just three days after its official South African launch, will be the brand new Isuzu D-max, as well as three special-edition models – the Isuzu Extreme, Artic and MU-X 4×4 World Edition. You’ll also be able to test drive the newly-launched MU-X and the Isuzu KB300 Double Cab 4×4 on one of the most interesting short 4×4 trails in the Western Cape.
Right next door, just on the other side of the Adventure City food court, you’ll find an off-road motorcycle trail on the former motocross circuit, set up by Henk Kotzee of the adventure bike series Look What You’re Missing, that will challenge your preconceived notions of what you and your bike can do.
So bring your dual-purpose bike and be a part of our adventure – and when you’re finished getting down and dirty you can drop your bike off at the Bike Wash (R20 for a quick hosing off, R50 for a soap-‘n-suds clean-up) and store your helmet at the Flying Brick stall while you walk around the rest of the show.
That includes new bike displays from Donfords BMW, with a range of GS dual-purpose machines, as well as Ready to Race with the latest from Husqvarna, and Honda Tygerberg with the CRF 250 Rally and the big Africa Twin beetle-crusher. KTM Cape Town will have a range of machines available for demo rides, with the 690R, 1090R and 1290R promised for the day.
There will also be displays of adventurous accessories from Flying Brick and Overland Motorrad, and premium Arai helmets from FG Enterprises.
That’s just one small section of what’s waiting for you at the Killarney Motor Show powered by Kfm 94.5 on Sunday, 4 November – there’s a full program of extreme freestyle motocross, stunt riding by the world-famous Le Riche brothers, passenger rides on incredible Africa Burn vehicles and even vintage tractors, hundreds of classic cars and motorcycles, custom and exotic street cars, racing cars on display, as well as new car displays along the Porsche Straight, test drives in the latest models and a chance to drive the Skid Monster.
In between this 60 hectare feast of two, three, four, six and even 18-wheeled automotive entertainment, there will be stalls selling automotive memorabilia, car bling, accessories and scale models, live bands, snake shows, a military heritage display featuring military vehicles (including a working Second World War Wehrmacht field kitchen, colloquially known as a ‘goulash cannon’), a fun fair, and no fewer than five food courts offering a huge variety of food and liquid refreshment.
The Killarney Motor Show powered by Kfm 94.5 will open from 10am to 5pm on Sunday 4 November. Book at Computicket or pay at the gate; entry is R100 for adults, R50 for Scholars under 16 and free for children under 12.
